Creating the Loyalty Offer

  1. Sign into the Incentivio Admin Portal and navigate to Marketing > Loyalty.
  2. Select + New Loyalty to create a new offer.

What Section

  1. Select the Program and Campaign and enter the Internal Title (which guests will not see).
  2. Since this offer will just be awarding points, it is not necessary to create and attach external discounts. Leave the External ID fields blank.
  3. Next to Offer Reward, select + Add Reward.
    1. Ensure the Reward Type is set to Award Points.
    2. Enter the Points Reward amount.
    3. If this offer does not require the purchase of a specific item to receive the points, click Save and move on to the Display Content.
If this offer requires customers to purchase a specific item to receive bonus points, set Has Qualifying Products to Yes and select the necessary groups or items that customers must purchase to qualify for this bonus point offer. Please note, if you are awarding points on the purchase of a modifier item, uncheck "Exclude Modifier Items" on your qualifying products.
    4. It is also possible to award points on each qualifying item purchased. To do so, select Yes next to Award for Each Qualifying Unit.
For additional guidance on this option, as well as the One vs. All Selection Mode, see the below section: One vs. All & Award for Each Qualifying Unit Guidance
  4. Save this screen, then proceed to add the Inbox Display Content.
Please note: Because this is an activity-based offer, customers will not receive this in their inbox, so it is unnecessary to enter extensive short and long descriptions. The only thing guests will see is the title, as this will be listed on their Loyalty History screen if they qualify and receive the points.

When Section

  1. Select Activity > Transaction Complete as the Distribution Mode.
For assistance in understanding Activity Types, refer to this guide: Activity Types
  2. Select the desired Distribution Channels and Redistribution Mode.
As a reminder: Single Lifetime offers will only ever be distributed once. Single Active offers can be redistributed once they have been used or deleted. Multiple offers will continue to be distributed at every available timeslot, even if the guest has a copy in their inbox; therefore, we don't recommend using them for Auto distributing offers.
If you want guests to be able to redeem this more than once, we recommend using Single Active; otherwise, select Single Lifetime.
  3. Set the Distribution Blackout, which controls how often this can be distributed to guests.
  4. Select the Distribution End Date Type (either Static [a fixed end date] or Never Expire), and enter the required State Date and, if applicable, End Date.
Important Note: The End Date should be one-day after the last day of the promotionIt will prevent bonus points from distributing for the final day if it is set to end on the last day of the promotion. (Ex: If the promotion ends 7/31/24, the End Date should be set to 8/1/24. It will not award points for purchases made on 8/1/24.)

Who Section

  1. If this offer is targeting specifically at customers who have established an existing ordering history, select the checkbox next to Enable Reach and select the applicable stores.
Note: This will prevent new guests from benefitting from this offer, as they have not yet been assigned Reach. If you want new guests to be able to redeem this offer, ensure that this checkbox is not checked so Reach will be disabled.
  2. Select your desired Targeting Rule(s) for who will receive this offer.
    • In general, these offers are set to target Everyone so all customers have the opportunity to earn points for making a purchase.
    • If you are offering bonus points on a single day, you can also use the Day of the Week targeting rule. For example, if you were offering points on purchases placed on Sunday September 1st, you can use Day of the Week = Sunday and the distribution days of the 1st and 2nd.
Tip: Use the And/Or Logical Operators to combine rules or set multiple ways guests can receive this offer!
For assistance in understanding Targeting Rules, which control which guests receive an offer, refer to this guide: Targeting Rules
  3. Save the offer.

One vs. All & Award for Each Qualifying Unit Guidance

Points for each qualifying unit are awarded based on "applicable units," which are determined by the combination of qualifying products, their quantities, and the selection mode.

  • Setting Selection Mode to One means that customers must have at least one of the qualifying items, in the specified quantity, in their cart in order to qualify for the offer.
  • Setting Selection Mode to All means that customers must have all of the qualifying items, in the specified quantity, in their cart in order to qualify for the offer.

Selection Mode: ONE

  • Example:
    • 1 Cold Coffee
    • 3 Hot Coffees
  • How Points Are Awarded:
    • Points are awarded separately for each product based on the specified quantities.
    • If Award For Each Qualifying Unit = Yes: If the reward is 50 points per unit, the customer would receive 50 points for each cold coffee and 50 points for every three hot coffees.
      • Example Calculation: If an order includes 6 cold coffees and 6 hot coffees, you would earn 400 points: 50 points for each of the 6 cold coffees (totaling 300 points), and 100 total points for 2 "sets" of 3 hot coffees.
    • If Award for Each Qualifying Unit = No: If the reward is 50 points, the customer would receive 50 points for purchasing 1 cold coffee or 50 points for 3 hot coffees. The points would not stack.
      • Example Calculation: If an order includes 6 cold coffees and 6 hot coffees, you would earn 50 points: 50 points for purchasing 1 cold coffee, but since it is not stackable, they would not receive points for purchasing additional quantities.

Selection Mode: ALL

  • Example:
    • 1 Cold Coffee
    • 3 Hot Coffees
  • How Points Are Awarded:
    • Points are awarded only when the specified combination of products is met.
    • If Award For Each Qualifying Unit = Yes: If the reward is 50 points per unit, the customer would receive 50 points for each 1 cold coffee plus 3 hot coffees. They must purchase the full "set" of 1 cold coffee + 3 hot coffees to receive any points.
      • Example Calculation: If an order includes 6 cold coffees and 6 hot coffees, you would receive only 50 points. This is because the order contains two complete sets of 1 cold coffee plus 3 hot coffees. Despite having extra cold coffees, each 1 needs 3 hot coffees to complete another set and earn additional points.
    • If Award for Each Qualifying Unit = No: If the reward is 50 points, the customer would receive 50 points for purchasing one "set" of 1 cold coffee + 3 hot coffees. The points would not stack.
      • Example Calculation: If an order includes 6 cold coffees and 6 hot coffees, the customer would receive only 50 points. This is because the offer would not stack for purchasing additional "full sets."
