This tutorial will teach you how to set up an Incentivio Communication that is triggered by an app user scanning in a specific QR code.
Your app should have a button in the right hand menu called either “Check-in” or “Scan” (You can pick the name during the branding process). You can press this button to load a scanner that uses the phone’s camera in order to scan QR codes. If you want Customer to have the ability to scan a code to receive a Message, Offer or Loyalty Offer, this is the screen in the app where they would do that.
- Download a QR code by clicking the download button in the Admin Portal (Seen in the green square of the screenshot below).
- You can do this by creating a Category or Brand (which can be done in the “Setup” section of the Incentivio Admin Portal).
- There is also a QR code that is automatically created for each store in the Admin Portal (which you can download by visiting the “Store Setup” section).
- This is the Code that the user will scan in, so you can put this on print marketing, your website, or any other areas where you would like to advertise. We suggest adding instructions on scanning in the code with the app to whatever advertisements you put out that include the an opportunity to scan a QR code*
- Create a Message, Offer or Loyalty Offer that has “Check In” as a targeting rule.
- Make sure your Communication has “Activity” selected for its Distribution Mode
- Select “Check In” for your Activity Name
- In the Targeting Rules section, select “Custom Rule”
- Select “Check in” for your Targeting Rule
- Select whether the QR code was generated from a Category, Brand or Store, and then select the exact Category, Brand or Store that you will download the QR code for and require the user to scan in order to receive this particular Communication (Message, Offer or Loyalty Offer)
