Customer Account Deletion

Apple recently updated their security policy that requires companies that allow accounts to be created on a mobile app, must give the user the option to delete their account. We thought this would be a good time to make this change across the board so that it applies to Mobile Apps and Web Users. This article will cover the details of the Customer Account Deletion feature. Note: If you do not see this feature on your app, email [e-mail] to request an app update.

Feature Overview

The Customer Account Deletion feature allows customers to delete their account and personal data on either Web or on the Mobile App. There are a few things to note about this:

• Customers that choose to delete their accounts will not be able to recover their loyalty points if they create a new account. 
• Physical Gift Cards will still work
• Digital Gift Cards will still work, but only if the customer can provide the gift card number

How Customers Delete Their Accounts - Web

Customers can delete their accounts on web by following the below process:

1. First, customers will need to log in to Web Ordering
   
   
2. After logging in, customers will navigate to Settings page under the My Account drop down
   
   
   
   
   
3. On the settings page there will be a new section called Delete Account. "Click on Delete My Account"
   
   
   
   
   
4. A delete account confirmation screen will appear after clicking on "Delete My Account." On this pop up, a message about a customer's loyalty points and gift card will be displayed
   
   

Note: Customers can type any form of "Delete" and it will be accepted to delete their account

How Customers Delete Their Accounts - Mobile App

Customers can delete their accounts on mobile apps by following the below process:

1. First, log in to the mobile app
    
2. Tap on the menu icon, and then select settings
   
   
3. On the settings page, scroll the headers until Delete Account shows up
   
                        
   
   
4. On the Delete Account screen, tap on "Delete My Account"
   
   
5. After tapping on "Delete My Account," a confirmation slider will display
