Promo codes are a powerful tool for driving customer engagement, boosting sales, and rewarding guests with discounts or special offers. In the Incentivio Dashboard, you can easily create and manage promo codes to provide targeted incentives for your customers. This article will guide you through the step-by-step process of creating promo codes, including how to attach them to offers and messages.

Creating a Promo Code
- In the Incentivio Dashboard, navigate to Communications > Promo Codes.
- Select + Create Promo Code.
- Enter the promo code and a short description. The description is only for internal use.
Please note: Promo codes are case-sensitive. - Click Save.
A QR code is also generated when creating a promo code, which can be saved and used in marketing materials. To redeem a promo code using a QR code, customers can select the Enter Code button in-app and use the Scan feature to scan this QR code. Scanning this QR code with a camera will not direct customers to the app.
Attaching a Promo Code to Offers/Messages
Promo codes can be used with activity-based offers or messages, which allows operators to limit distribution to only those who have entered the code.
When creating an offer or message:
- Under the Target Audience section, enable Activity Based and select the Check-In activity type.
- Select Targeting Rules for how customers should receive this offer.
- Select + Add Rule.
- Select Promo Code as the targeting rule, then select the desired promo code.
- Finish setting up the offer/message!
Note: Promo codes do not automatically apply in-store. Guests will either need to unlock the promo in their app first, orthe store should have a separate discount programmed in their POS to be applied at checkout.
