The SMS Report gives operators a clear view of the total number of SMS messages sent for your brand. This report can be filtered by date to analyze a specific time frame and includes the following SMS categories:
- Marketing
- Order Confirmation
- Account Verification
To access the report, you can navigate to https://(yourbrandname).admin.incentivio.com and click 'SMS Report' under the 'Analytics' heading.
Report Breakdown
The first section of the report provides an overview of the total number of SMS sent for each category.
Marketing SMS Details
The Marketing SMS section offers a detailed breakdown of all SMS messages associated with Messages, Offers, and Loyalty Offers, including:
- Start and End Dates – The duration the communication was active.
- Communication Title – The title of the specific SMS communication.
- Communication Type – Indicates whether the SMS relates to a Message, Offer, or Loyalty Offer.
- Total SMS Sent – The total number of unique SMS messages sent.
- Percent Delivered – The percentage of successfully delivered messages.
- Total Segments – The total number of SMS segments used.
Account Verification SMS
The Account Verification SMS section provides an overview of all SMS messages associated with new account creation.
Note: Lower delivery rates are expected on Account Verification SMS, which actually means it's functioning as expected to help prevent those using invalid phone numbers from creating and verifying a fraudulent account.
The fields on this report include:
- Total SMS Sent – The total number of unique SMS messages sent.
- Total SMS Delivered – The total number of SMS messages successfully delivered.
- Percent Delivered – The percentage of successfully delivered messages.
- Total Segments – The total number of SMS segments used.
Order Confirmation SMS
The Order Confirmation SMS section provides a per-location overview of all SMS sent after an order is placed. The fields included on this report include:
- Location - The location where the order was placed.
- Total SMS Sent – The total number of unique SMS messages sent.
- Total SMS Delivered – The total number of SMS messages successfully delivered.
- Percent Delivered – The percentage of successfully delivered messages.
- Total Segments – The total number of SMS segments used.
Understanding SMS and Segments
Important Note: SMS billing is based on Total Segments, not just Total SMS Sent.
- Total SMS Sent refers to the number of unique messages sent to customers.

Total Segments reflects the actual number of SMS sent, as messages exceeding certain character limits require multiple segments:
- 160 characters for standard SMS.
- 70 UTF-8 characters (when emojis or special characters are included).
Example:
- If a single message exceeds 160 characters, it will be split into multiple segments for delivery.
- Therefore, while Total SMS Sent may show 1 message, Total Segments could reflect 2 or more, depending on the message length.
