Feature Overview
Guest Checkout Verification allows restaurant brands to verify a guest's identity before they complete an order. When enabled, guests will be prompted to verify their contact information — via a one-time code sent by SMS or email — before their order is submitted.
This feature helps reduce fraudulent guest orders by confirming that the contact information provided at checkout belongs to the person placing the order.
How to Enable Guest Checkout Verification
Guest Checkout Verification must be enabled by the Incentivio team.
- Log in to the Incentivio Dashboard
- On the left-side menu, navigate to Settings > Client Configuration
- Locate the Guest Checkout Verification card.
- Toggle the feature on. A drawer will appear prompting you to select a delivery method.
- Select the client's preferred delivery method — SMS or Email — from the dropdown.
- SMS — A 6-digit verification code is sent to the guest's mobile number. The code expires in 20 minutes. If needed, the guest can request a new code using the Resend Verification Code option.
- Email — A verification code is sent to the email address the guest provided at checkout.

Click Save to apply your changes.
Note: If Guest Checkout Verification is disabled, the Guest Checkout Verification tab will not appear in SMS Reports.
What the Customer Experience Looks Like
When Guest Checkout Verification is enabled, guests will see a Verify your identity prompt during checkout after entering their contact information.
SMS delivery: The guest receives a 6-digit code via text message. They enter the code in the verification prompt to continue. The code expires after 20 minutes, and a countdown timer with a resend option is displayed.
Email delivery: The guest receives a 6-digit code at the email address they provided. They enter the code in the same verification prompt to complete the process.
Once the code is successfully verified, the guest's order proceeds as normal.
