In this article, we will cover the Dynamic Offer Expiration feature. We created this feature to allow Restaurant Brands to choose specific parameters for the redemption end date of an Offer and/or Loyalty Offer. This feature now allows Restaurant Brands to set the specific amount of time an offer will be available to redeem after the customer receives it. Along with this feature, we made it easier for Restaurant Brands to set an offer up to distribute indefinitely.

Feature Overview
This feature allows restaurants to set an Offer or Loyalty Offer to expire X days, hours, and/or minutes after the customers receive it. We also added a Never Expire button for the Distribution End Date for Messages, Offers, and Loyalty Offers, which, if selected, will cause the Communication to keep distributing to eligible recipients indefinitely. Lastly, the Never Expire button was also added as an option under Redemption End Date Type, which will allow customers who have received the Offer/Loyalty Offer to redeem it indefinitely.
How to Use the Dynamic Expiration Date Feature
- While creating an Offer or Loyalty Offer, select Dynamic as your Redemption End Date Type if you want the offer to expire a set amount of time after the customer receives it.
- After selecting Dynamic, a new field called Redemption End Time appears below. The days/hours/minutes you enter in this field will determine how long the customer has to use the Offer after receiving it. If that amount of time elapses, the Offer will expire for that customer.
The Dynamic Offer Expiration feature serves two main functions:

Offers and Loyalty Offers can either be:
- Static - This is when the Distribution End Date will use a specific date to stop sending an offer

Never Expire - This is when the Distribution End Date will not have a value, so the offer will send indefinitely
- Note: Never Expire will distribute indefinitely but will be based on the redistribution type selected
With this flexibility, brands can choose the Redemption End Date an offer uses:

Offers and Loyalty Offers can be:
- Static - The offer/loyalty offer has to be redeemed before a specific date
- Dynamic - The offer/loyalty offer has to be redeemed before a specific time after receiving the offer

Never Expire - The offer/loyalty offer can be redeemed whenever - there is no expiration date

The Redemption End Date Type options are contingent on what is selected for the Distribution End Date Type.
- If Static is selected as the Distribution End Date Type, then Dynamic and Never Expire will be the only options for Redemption End Date Type
- If Never Expire is selected as the Distribution End Date Type, then Static, Dynamic and Never Expire will be the options for Redemption End Date Type
- The Distribution End Date Type changes are available on the Offers, Loyalty Offers, and Messages screens.

The steps below outline how to set up and use the Dynamic Offer Expiration feature within the admin portal. This section will be step-by-step.

Login to the Incentivio Admin Portal

Within the navigation menu under Marketing, select the type of Communication you want to send (Offer, Loyalty Offer, or Message)

Start creating the type of communication you want and complete the "What" section.

Scroll down to the “When” section and find the field that reads “Distribution End Date Type”

Here you can select either Static or Never Expire
- Select Static - This is when the Distribution End Date will use a specific date to stop sending an offer

Select Never Expire - This is when the Distribution End Date will not have a value, so the offer will send indefinitely

Next under the "Who" section, find the field that reads "Redemption End Date Type" and select the option you want to use.

Choose between Static, Dynamic, and Never Expire as the Redemption End Date Type

Static - The offer/loyalty offer has to be redeemed before a specific date

Dynamic - The offer/loyalty offer has to be redeemed before a specific time after receiving the offer

Never Expire - The offer/loyalty offer can be redeemed whenever - there is no expiration date

- Once you have completed all of the required fields and set your Distribution & Redemption End Dates save the communication
Distribution End Date Type: Static
This type of distribution end date requires you to fill out the “End Date” field.
Distribution End Date Type: Never Expire
This type of distribution end date does not require you to fill out an “End Date” and therefore is grayed out.
