Always Available Offers

When creating offers and loyalty offers, sending them to all users may be beneficial, even if they cannot yet redeem them. This helps to generate hype around available offers and encourages customers to save loyalty points for higher-tier offers they might not know about otherwise.

This feature - Always Available Offers - helps to encourage this behavior by enabling operators to create offers that will always be in the guest's inbox. There is no need to wait for the next distribution time slot to receive the offer again, and it provides guests with a clear outline of the potential they can unlock by saving loyalty points or completing specific actions.

Feature Overview

Under the What section on the offer creation page, operators can check the box next to "Offer is Always Available" to enable the use of this feature.

This will do a few different things:

  1. It will lock editing on the following fields, which cannot be changed:
    1. Targeting Rule - This will be set to "Everyone" by default.
    2. Distribution Mode/Activity Names
    3. Redistribution Mode - This will always be set to Single Active, meaning that guests can only have a single active copy of this offer in their inbox at a time.
    4. Channels - This offer cannot be distributed through Email, Push, or SMS. It will just live in the guest's in-account inbox.
    5. Distribution Blackout - Since it will always be in the guest's inbox, re-distribution cannot be delayed.
  2. It will ensure that this offer is not removed from the guest's inbox after they redeem it. If they are still eligible to redeem it, based on the Redemption Rules and Redemption End Date set, they can do so on their next order.
    For example, if the offer is only redeemable by guests who have more than 75 loyalty points (based on the Redemption Rule Loyalty Points >= 75), they will always have this offer in their inbox but can only redeem it once they have at least 75 loyalty points banked.
    Another example would be the Basket Subtotal rule: Guests will always have this offer in their inbox but will not be able to redeem it until they have an order that meets the minimum Basket Subtotal set under Redemption Rules.

Limitations/Notes

  • Always Available Offers should not be used in combination with Reach (to limit distributions to only certain locations.) This is because Always Available Offers will be available in all customer inboxes, regardless of what location they use, and are not technically "distributed" until they are redeemed.
