Feature Overview

Account Verification gives restaurant brands the ability to verify customer identities during account creation or login. You can choose how that verification is delivered — via email or SMS — and whether it's sent as a clickable link or a one-time code.

There are four delivery methods available:

  • Email Link — A verification link sent via email
  • Email Code — A one-time code sent via email
  • SMS Link — A verification link sent via text message
  • SMS Code — A one-time code sent via text message

Choosing the right method for your brand depends on your customer base and the experience you want to provide. SMS options tend to offer faster completion rates on mobile, while email options are a reliable default for broader compatibility.

 

How to Enable Account Verification

Account Verification is configured in Client Configuration. To enable SMS-based delivery methods specifically, the SMS Account Verification feature must be turned on. Please reach out to support@incentivio.com or your Incentivio CSM.

Once SMS Account Verification is enabled, the SMS Code and SMS Link options will become available in the User Account Verification drop-down. If it is disabled, those options will not appear and the Account Verification report will be removed from the SMS Reports page.

 

How to Configure the Delivery Method 

This will be completed by the Incentivio team

  1. Log in to the Incentivio Dashboard 
  2. On the left-side menu, under Administration, select Client Configuration.
  3. Locate the User Account Verification drop-down and select your preferred delivery method:
    • Email Link
    • Email Code
    • SMS Link
    • SMS Code
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

 

Delivery Method Options

Email Link The customer receives an email containing a verification link. Clicking the link completes the account verification process.

Email Code The customer receives an email containing a one-time numeric code. They enter this code in the app or web experience to complete verification.

SMS Link The customer receives a text message containing a verification link. Tapping the link completes the account verification process directly from their mobile device.

SMS Code The customer receives a text message containing a one-time numeric code. They enter this code in the app or web experience to complete verification.
